THIEVES have stolen tools and sentimental items from the garage a man sufffering from terminal lung cancer.

Rod Parkinson, 48, woke up at 6am on Sunday to discover the garage door open and tools scattered on the floor.

Rod’s wife Helen said he has been collecting the tools, all engraved with his nickname ‘Roders’, since he started his first apprenticeship aged 15.
