THREE men who were allegedly travelling in a stolen HGV when it fatally struck a pedestrian in Brierley will appear at Sheffield Crown Court today.

David Mellor, 48, of Bank End Road, Worsbrough Dale, Wayne Carroll, 29, of Chestnut Street, Grimethorpe, and 55-year-old Alan Mawhinney, of Calder Crescent, Kendray, all face charges of aggravated vehicle taking and will appear for a pre-trial review.

Another man, 23-year-old Karn Hill, of East View, Cudworth, previously pleaded guilty to causing 58-year-old Jacqueline Wileman’s death in the incident, which happened on September 14.

He will be sentenced following the trial of Mellor, Carroll and Mawhinney.
