Barnsley are currently without their three most experienced defenders but manager Danny Wilson hopes they will all return soon and is confident his younger players can fill in in the meantime.

Peter Ramage limped off during Saturday's win over Yeovil Town with a recurring thigh problem while Lewin Nyatanga missed the match due to illness. Both are expected to return for the away game at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday while Martin Cranie may have also recovered from a knee injury which has kept him out since before Christmas.

After Ramage came off on 27 minutes, he was replaced by 21-year-old George Williams making his home debut after joining from non-league Worcester last month. He formed an inexperienced back four with 18-year-old academy products Mason Holgate and George Smith as well as 26-year-old Jean Yves M'voto who had not started a game for three months.

Wilson said he expects Ramage and Nyatanga to be back for the Doncaster game. He added: "You want those experienced players available but, when you have young lad coming in and doing such a good job, it gives you great belief."
