TIMEFRAMES for a new supermarket building in Royston will be released later in the year.

Aldi, which opened another new store in Cudworth last month, was given the green light to build on a vacant site off High Street and has completed the 2.5-acre plot’s purchase and carried out preparatory works.

The store - which will create up to 50 jobs when it opens - is also anticipated to generate around 200 opportunities during its construction phase.

A spokesman said: ‘We want to give our new store at Cudworth time to establish itself before commencing work at Royston. More detailed timeframes will be issued later in the year.”
