A FIRE has broken out at a fish and chip shop.
Firefighters were called to Gary’s Fisheries on Cheapside at 10.40am.
When they arrived the chip shop was well alight and crews from Barnsley, Dearne and Cudworth used 2 hose reels and breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.
It is thought oil from the fryer caused the fire.
A police spokesperson confirmed that no one was injured in the blaze.
