THE number of apprenticeships in Barnsley has hit a new high as the town's employers back a new generation of workers.
New data has revealed a 17 per cent increase in apprenticeship vacancies posted online between August and October 2014 compared to the same period the previous year.
Over the three months, 270 vacancies were advertised on the Apprenticeship Vacancies website versus the 230 in 2013/14.
