TRADERS claim problems with drug addicts and drunks in a blighted area of the town centre has reached a crisis point.

Peel Square has long been associated with problems but stallholders and businesses on the semi-open market say they are plagued with antisocial behaviour daily by a group who just meet to drink and take drugs.

They say it is putting customers off and on Wednesday will meet with council leader Sir Steve Houghton and the town centre team to address the issue.

Julie Croft, who runs the Tots2Teenz stall in the square, said: "Two of them were caught having sex in the toilets and they're injecting in the toilets as well. We've seen them taking drugs in broad daylight and dealing in the street."
