FRIENDS of a little boy who died of cancer can now sit on a bench in his memory at his school.

Jake Croft was just four when he was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma last October, a rare form of cancer affecting just 100 children each year. He died just two weeks later.

Friends and family decided a fitting tribute would be a friendship bench at Jake’s school, Milefield Primary, Grimethorpe.

The friendship bench will be a place for pupils feeling lonely to go and sit so they can let others know they want somebody to talk to.
