AS WORK on a statue of comedy legend Victoria Wood nears competition, sculptor Graham Ibbeson has shared a picture of a 3D-printed scale model.

It was produced with cutting-edge scanning and 3D printing technology, and taken from his own larger-than-life version in clay which he produced in Barnsley at his Longman Road studio.

Graham released the latest image after the release of a picture of a small early rough model, which was featured in the Chronicle last week. The new model is a more accurate representation of the finished piece.

The latest miniature version is going to be cast in bronze maquettes and sold to help fund the final stages of the project.

It is hoped the finished statue will be unveiled in the star’s home town of Bury this summer.
