THE sister of a young mother who was killed in a horror crash in Carlton has said she was a happy-go-lucky, bubbly person who lived life to the full.

Lorna Humble, 29, of Lang Avenue, Lundwood, died after colliding with a concrete mixer lorry and a silver Vauxhall Vectra on Industry Road on Monday afternoon.

Lorna leaves a nine-year-old daughter, Sophia.

Lorna’s sister Shari Drinkall told the Chronicle yesterday that Lorna was the kind of person who would have done anything for anyone.

She said: “She had the biggest heart. She would go to the ends of the earth, especially for her daughter.

“She loved the bones of her and it’s such a shame she’s not going to be here for her.

“I don’t think it’s really sunk in for Sophia.

“But she’s got amazing support. My friend, on my behalf, has set up a fundraising page to help give Sophia a start in life when she reaches 18.”

So far, more than £1,884 has been raised.

Shari said Lorna had been a dinner lady at Wilthorpe Primary School for about three years.

“She loved it and had some really good friends there.”

People are invited to release red balloons in Grimethorpe Park tonight at 6pm in memory of Lorna.

A 27-year-old woman who was in the car with Lorna was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two men driving the mixer and Vauxhall Vectra, aged 53 and 27 respectively, were not injured.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
