MORE than 150 jobs are expected to be created by plans for another four large business units at a business park near junction 36 of the M1.
The expansion plans at Ashroyd Business Park, Platts Common, for business uses including research and development, light industry, general industrial, storage and distribution.
A report to be presented to councillors on the planning board on Tuesday says the development is expected to lead to the creation of a number of construction jobs during the build period, with an anticipated 150 direct jobs and potential for other indirect jobs offsite once the development is operational.
Like the recent development near the motorway junction at 38, the development is ‘speculative’ and will be marketed to potential business looking to set up or move to Barnsley, or expand to bigger premises.
