BARNSLEY town centre is to hold its first ever vintage street festival.

It will be staged on July 19 in the Arcade and is being organised by Barnsley Council and Glass Onion Vintage Ltd.

Coun Roy Miller, cabinetpokesman said: "The event is already receiving lots of support from the local community, in particular the Arcade shops.

"Visitors can expect to see vintage fashion, traditional ice cream carts, cut-throat barbers, plus a few other surprises during the day."

The festival runs from 10am until 9pm.
