A LITTLE boy's dream of playing outside in his garden has come true after volunteers helped to transform it.

Alex Parkes, seven, suffers from hyper mobility syndrome - severe double-jointedness - and nerve damage. He tires easily and uses a wheelchair to get about.

But he has a new-found sense of freedom after his garden on Tune Street, Wombwell was levelled off to give him more room to ride his specially-adapted trike.

His case was taken up by national children's charity WellChild and, through its Helping Hands project, volunteers from salesforce.com made the garden all one level and put down some Astroturf.
