TOWN centre venues are once again set to battle it out for a coveted 2019 Best Bar None award as the competition launches for the fifth year in a row.

Last year saw Annie Murray’s crowned as the People’s Choice with more than 30 per cent of the vote.

But it was Joseph Bramah on Market Hill which scooped the Overall Winner and Best Bar awards.

The Best Late Night Venue title went to Wellington Street’s Zinc, which was judged to have gone above and beyond the standard criteria for Best Bar None accreditation. Best Bar None is a voluntary accreditation scheme which recognises excellence in Barnsley’s night time economy. Accredited venues must show they are committed to customer safety and delivering an excellent service.

Barnsley people can vote for their favourite venue to win this year’s People’s Choice award. Nominees include: 00 Bar, Annie Murray’s, Che Bar, Corner Pin, Digital, Joseph Bramah, Shakespeare, Silkstone Inn, The Open Kitchen, Zinc, Soul Lounge, Favela, VOLT, Aroma Café/Bar, Chennells, White Bear, Temple of Muses, Metrodome, Pavilion, Passion Food, The Garrison and Pourhouse 22.
