Brampton's Josh Wale made history as he successfully defended his British bantamweight title with a brutal knock-out in Manchester on Saturday evening.

Wale knocked out brave challenger Don Broadhurst, from Birmingham, in the 11th round with an enormous right hand.

Broadhurst tried to beat referee Phil Edwards' count but failed and needed lengthy medical treatment afterwards.

Broadhurst was wobbled in the first round by Wale but recovered to ensure a close fight going into the championship rounds. But Wale's huge punch left the judges redundant.
