Barnsley have not changed from their pressing tactics of last season, insists manager David Flitcroft.
The Reds had great success by closing down opponents last term but appear to have adopted a different approach this season. Players have commented in interviews that they have been instructed to let opponents have the ball in some games with the hope of tackling them and counter-attacking.
But Flitcroft said: "The brand of football and tactics have not changed at all since last season. I have set the team up to press in every game apart from Leicester but sometimes things happen in the game which knock you off your rhythm like an early goal.
"I think, earlier in the season, we possibly didn't have enough players in the team that the opposition were worried about. But now I am trying to get more of them involved like Jason Scotland and Paddy McCourt, who were not fully fit early in the season, as well as Jacob Mellis, Chris O'Grady and Dale Jennings."
