West End starlet Danielle Steers is returning to the Barnsley theatre where she started out next week, fresh from starring in the first arena tour of musical We Will Rock You.

The 22-year-old, of Monk Bretton, was part of the ensemble cast for the world tour of the Queen musical, playing several characters but mainly a Bohemian.

The tour finished on Sunday and took in Finland, Denmark, Holland, Luxembourg, Ireland and the UK.

Now Danielle is gearing up for her return to the stage at the Academy Theatre, Birdwell, for a Take 2 production called 'A Night at the Musicals V'.

It is the fifth part in a series of shows that promises to take the audience on a 'magical journey' through the wonders of the West End and Broadway.

Previous instalments of the show went under the name 'Les Musicals' but a spokesman for the theatre said it was changed to better reflect the content of the show.

He added: "Also appearing in this one will be Danielle Steers who has been on the pro-circuit doing We Will Rock You and finished the arena tour of it in Ireland at the weekend.

"It will be good to have her back on stage, she's a former pupil here and has gone on to great things."

Danielle will appear alongside other principal singers from Take 2 Theatre Julie Whitfield, Lucie Cooper, Sarah Moore, Sue Dring, Karl Brennan Chris Lafferty and Tom White.

They will be performing hits from the West End and Broadway such as Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Me and My Girl and Jesus Christ Superstar. Show times are Thursday and Friday, starting at 7.30pm. For tickets contact the box office on 744442.
