A NIGHTCLUB where a man was allegedly stabbed is under threat of having its licence revoked.

Police have asked for a review of Whispers amid concerns poor management is failing to keep the club under control. It follows a number of violent incidents, including the attack at a private function which a police report says is being investigated as an attempted murder.

The review will be considered by Barnsley Council’s licensing board in March and one of the powers it has is to strip the club of its licence.

But Chris Palmer, who owns the premises, is hoping issues can be resolved through mediation, rather than through a review hearing.
