THE fanzine West Stand Bogs has ceased publication after five years.

It has brought together Barnsley FC fans who have written about the club, and raised money for charity.

It is run by a small group of people but received contributions from others.

Liam Dyson, co-founder, said the project had become bigger than anyone expected.

He said: “It has been difficult over the last 12 months to keep things going to the same standard.

“When you factor in this week’s news of the takeover, it feels a bit like a new era and it felt like a nice, natural conclusion.”

Liam said about £70,000 had been raised through a series of events was used to feed the hungry, buy Christmas presents for kids who wouldn’t have had any, pay for kids’ football kits and support the elderly.
