Danny Wilson says Paddy McCourt is the most technically gifted player at Oakwell but has suggested that he plans to use his fellow Northern Irish international as an impact substitute.

Fleet-footed winger McCourt – who has scored two wondergoals this season – played in Wilson's first two home games but has not featured in the last six.

Wilson said: "Paddy is very much a part of the squad. He's got an undoubted ability. He's the most technically gifted player at the club but he's got to have another side of his game as well.

"At times we have grind teams down and Paddy, by own admission, is not that type of player. But there will come a time when Paddy will be the one that can unlock a door for us. He understands the situation totally."
