Witness appeal as woman dies after crashing into lamppost

A WOMAN has died after the car she was in crashed into a lamppost in Monk Bretton.
The 50-year-old woman was a passenger in a white Honda Jazz which was involved in a single-vehicle collision on Burton Road at Monk Bretton at about 4pm last Wednesday.
She was taken to hospital with the driver, who was a 68-year-old woman, but died the next day.
Her family have been notified, and an inquest is expected to open next week.
The driver remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
