POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Barnsley this afternoon.
A 29-year old woman died shortly after the incident and a 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the collision on Industry Road near Carlton Industrial Estate at around 1.40pm.
A police spokesman said the black Citroen C1 in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a concrete mixer lorry and a silver Vauxhall Vectra.
Two men driving the mixer and Vauxhall Vectra, aged 53 and 27 respectively, were not injured.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote Incident 422 of April 9.
A road closure remains in place into this evening while investigation work continues.
