A WOMBWELL cobbler has reopened his doors after being shut for three months due to a triple heart bypass.

Pete Rose, 74, has officially reopened Pete's Shoe Repairs on Station Road this week after closing down for his operation in September.

Pete said: "To be honest I have been overwhelmed by the amount of interest shown in me.

"I have been having people phone me up while I've been off asking how I've been doing. It is a great place, Wombwell."

Pete has been in the cobbling business for 24 years, and travels 40 minutes each day from his Doncaster home to get to work.
