WORK to improve the A61 Westwood roundabout in Tankersley will start this month.
The roundabout will be signalised with traffic lights installed to control the flow of traffic round the junction.
A road will also be cut through the centre of the roundabout and traffic following the A61 to and from Sheffield and Barnsley will continue across the junction without the need to negotiate the roundabout.
All of the approaches to the junction and the roundabout will also be widened as part of the scheme which will start on September 14.
All work will take place between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday only.
