WORK is underway to on Goldthorpe's new primary school.
Councillors, the contractors and children visited the site on Main Street this week to check on progress.
The site is being cleared by contractors Robertson Construction ahead of an 11-month build programme with the school set to open for the September term in a year's time.
The school will cater for 310 pupils and is being paid for by Barnsley Council.
