IT IS becoming something of a habit for Wortley Men’s Club to scoop CAMRA’s annual award as the best in Barnsley.
And the club has done it again, meaning stewards Nigel and Teresa Pickering will have to find a bit more wall space for the sixth consecutive Club of the Year award.
The award keeps them at the top of the pile in Barnsley and also provides the opportunity for a chance to take the regional - and then possibly national - titles.
And that isn’t as much of a long-shot as it may sound. With 44,000 eligible clubs in the country, Wortley Men’s Club seized the national title only two years ago, under the same stewardship.
