NOT much shocks Darren Martin-Chambers after 25 years serving around the world with the British Army, but the popularity of Yorkshire puddings among soldiers in Oman did come as quite a surprise.

Darren, an army chef by trade, is currently in Oman helping train the country’s soldiers as army chefs.

“They all knew what Yorkshire puddings were, which did come as quite a surprise,” said Darren, speaking from Oman.

“The pressure was on because my wife normally cooks the Yorkshires, but I managed to avoid any major disasters.”
