A CUDWORTH youngster who was left with serious burns after he attempted to put a fire out has been given a ‘get well’ card from his favourite football players.

Brogan Goose, seven, tried to extinguish flames on a playing field near to where he was playing at Cudworth Park on August 14 but was left with burns to his upper legs.

The youngster was rushed to Barnsley Hospital but has since been attending Sheffield Children’s Hospital’s burns unit, where he may have to undergo a skin graft in the coming weeks.

Firefighters who attended the scene, from Cudworth Fire Station, felt compelled to help Brogan and approached his favourite team, Manchester United, who sent a signed card from England captain Wayne Rooney and Spanish players David De Gea and Ander Herrera.
