MEMBERS of Barnsley Youth Choir are singing the praises of generous Barnsley folk who have raised £44,000 to help send them to Germany for the European Choir Games.
The choir of more than 250 members will now be able to send its 58 most accomplished singers to Magdeburg next month to sing in the competition with some of the best choirs in the world.
A black tie dinner and auction held at the Holiday Inn at Dodworth hosted by Dan Jarvis MP and radio presenter Stephanie Hirst raised more than £10,000 in pledges.
