Our gentle guide to keeping yourself fit and healthy.
My name is Bronia Warden. I am a mum to Keeley, 22, and Kealan, 19.
I am the youngest and only girl to four older brothers, and the sportiest one. My mum passed away in December 2011 and my dad, 90, has managed brilliantly since.
During my childhood I loved to bake and help my mum with decorating cakes and doing buffets, this led me to do a catering and waitressing course when I left school.
As I got more knowledge of vitamins, minerals and healthy eating, I took more interest in fitness so I chose to do a health and fitness course covering exercise to music (including pre and post-natal), business studies, community skills and body massage.
I worked as a freelance instructor and had other jobs such as a Post Office counter clerk along the way until I was approached to train to teach older and less abled people exercise.
I remember walking into the room full of people on the introduction day with a toddler and a baby in the pram trying to convince them I could do the course with two young children and boy did I do it. Fast forward to date I have continued to further my professional development with training up to in gym instructing, cardiac rehab, GP referral, health and fitness for children aged five and upwards, Zumba, fitness pilates, pilates and Blockfit plus many more but my love is working as a postural stability instructor.
I have done this since 2003 with the older generation as I get so much back from them with their improvements, however big or small the change, such as being able to brush their own hair to walking without an aid.
That is my biggest achievement and knowing they want results makes my job easier and why I love it.
