NEILL Collins says watching from the stands at Shrewsbury was ‘horrendous’ after being banned from the sidelines for picking up a third yellow card of the season on Saturday.

The Barnsley head coach was in the directors’ box for Tuesday’s 1-1 draw, with coaches Jon Stead and Martin Devaney in the dugout.

Collins told the Chronicle: “It was horrendous. I have done it on two or three occasions.

“I didn’t realise it was my third booking. I forgot about the Portsmouth one because a lot happened in that game.

“I don’t want to put myself in that position. I try to be as respectful as possible because I think the team needs me.

“But Davvers and Steady more than did their job. I had to sit on my hands a few times in the directors’ box.”

Collins was only banned for one game as was Luca Connell who was sent off on Saturday.
