FLY-TIPPING is becoming a problem on Black Lane in Tankersley, the parish council has heard.

Members were told that a resident had contacted Barnsley Neighbourhood Pride to clean up the refuse but had got no response.

Coun Robert Lodge said the problem was made worse by restrictions at council waste and recycling sites, particularly a ban on commercial vans wanting to dump rubbish.

"It would be easy to identify and prosecute as there are names and addresses in the Black Lane rubbish," he said. "If we can't get waste taken away, what are we paying our money for?"

The latest lot of rubbish on Black Lane had been cleared up by workers from Fitzwilliam Estates.
