A SCHOOLGIRL has been helping The Fonz to inspire children struggling with dyslexia.

Megan Blackburn, 14, was one of a group of children invited to film at St Catherine's high school in Halifax with actor Henry Winkler, aka The Fonz from iconic 70s' TV show, Happy Days.

These days he is known to a new generation as Mr Rock from CBBC comedy drama show Hank Zipzer: The World's Greatest Underachiever.The show was inspired by a series of books by Henry and writer Lin Oliver. They tell the story of Hank Zipper, a 12-year-old boy with dyslexia who is growing up in New York.

Megan, of Roundacre, Wilthorpe, who is studying drama at Penistone Grammar School, was invited to film with Henry as she is signed up to Barnsley's Tykes 2000 Casting agency.

Megan appears in the show as one of about ten children in a classroom scene with Mr Rock. Filming for the second series finishes at the beginning of September.

Megan has also been in a Christmas TV special with Johnny Vegas, BBC drama Prisoners' Wives, children's sitcom All At Sea and crime drama DCI Banks.
