Andy Booker has helped organise the Metrodome event called 'An Evening with Mike Tyson', when the boxer is expected to speak about his sporting achievements.

His appearance has been marred with controversy after 1,000 people signed a petition by a Barnsley rape and sexual abuse support group who wanted to stop him coming because of his 1992 conviction for rape.

Speaking to the Chronicle, Mr Booker, who has been friends with the undisputed heavyweight world champion for 30 years, has defended the decision to allow him to appear and said it is the sixth time he has brought Tyson to Britain.

"We've sold 1,000 tickets so we have matched them in the petition, it is a sell-out event," he said.
