BARNSLEY have confirmed they will play Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest in a pre-season friendly on July 16.
The 5.30pm kick-off will finish an open day at Oakwell during which the under 18s and women’s team will play on on the training pitches, as well as other activities.
Barnsley began their pre-season schedule with a 3-1 win at non-league Worksop Town on Saturday and are now due to play a behind-closed-doors match on Friday.
They then host League Two Crewe Alexandra on July 9 on the showcase training pitch.
After the Forest match, they visit Harrogate Town on July 20 and host Sheffield United on July 23 – a week before the League One season begins.
