COMMENT: Hungary star Styles’ Barnsley career a conundrum
ONE OF the more fascinating subplots for the next few months is how Callum Styles plays for Barnsley, and how much.
While most of his team-mates have been recuperating and training at Oakwell for the last fortnight, the 23-year-old has started two games for Hungary during the international break.
He helped them to a 2-1 win in Serbia in a qualifier for next summer’s Euros then played in a home friendly draw with the Czech...

NEILL Collins is hoping to get more out of Callum Styles in the coming months and says the Hungary international has admitted that he needs to perform better for Barnsley.

He then started the 1-1 draw at home to Czech Republic on Sunday in...

SAM COSGROVE is hoping for a second successive promotion out of League One and believes experiencing it as a permanent Barnsley player will be even sweeter than as a Plymouth Argyle loanee last season.

He had been loaned out regularly including to...

COMMENT: Assessing Barnsley's window
DURING the summer transfer window of 2023, Barnsley brought 13 first team players in and eight were either sold or loaned out.
That makes it the busiest summer since the frantic 2017 window when more than 15 went in each direction, months before Patrick Cryne sold the club to the group led by Paul Conway and Chien Lee.

He is also thought to be one of the highest-paid players at the club, having signed a four-year deal in the summer of 2021.
A return to his...

INCOMINGS
SAM COSGROVE:
The striker was Barnsley’s traditional post-midnight ‘deadline day +1’ signing which often adds a more positive spin on the window after the social media doom-mongers have declared it a disaster.
