Barnsley have signed left-back Owen Dodgson on a season-long loan from Burnley.

The 20-year-old came through the Manchester United academy then joined the Clarets in 2021.

He spent the second half of last season at Rochdale, playing 18 games and scoring once in League Two.

Dodgson was signed too late to make his debut at Cheltenham tomorrow.

Chief executive Khaled El-Ahmad told the club website: “We are pleased to bring Owen to Oakwell.

“He is a young player who will continue his development while providing competition within our squad.”

Dodgson added: “I’m very happy to be here. When the opportunity came about, I had to jump on the opportunity. I’m looking forward to the season.”
