Northern Counties East Premier team Athersley Rec scored three late goals to earn a home win over Liversedge on Saturday.

Rec had trailed to the West Yorkshire outfit until the 82nd minute but late pressure paid off with Daniel Joynes bagging two and substitute Josh Moore scoring in the 3-1 win.

A division down, Worsbrough Bridge were beaten 2-0 away at Bottesford Town. Penistone Church claimed a point at home to league leaders Hallam. Andrew Ring's goal gave them the lead but Hallam, who'd won their first four league games, pegged them back with five to go.

Shaw Lane Aquaforce powered to victory at home to Romulus in the Evo-Stik South League. Second half goals came from former Barnsley FC trainees Rhys Meynell and Stefan Holt. Jimmy Eyles rounded off the scoring late on.

There were wins on Saturday for County Senior league teams Wombwell Main, Silkstone United and Kingstone United.Main made it two wins in a row with a 4-2 triumph over Sheffield Bankers. Kingstone won by the same scoreline at home to Davy FC. Silkstone won 3-1 away at High Green Villa. Grimethorpe Sports kicked off their season with a 4-1 win against Houghton Main Reserves.

North Gawber Colliery were beaten 4-3 although Carey Welford scored a hat-trick and there was a surprise 4-1 loss for Houghton Main.
