One Barnsley player is isolating with Covid-19 while captain Cauley Woodrow is a 'big question mark' for Friday's game against West Bromwich Albion with a knee injury.

The player, who is not a regular in the first team squad, tested positive yesterday but the entire staff and squad took tests this morning and there were no further positive results.

They will continue to take daily tests and the match on Friday is expected to go ahead against West Brom who themselves have four players out with the virus.

On the player with Covid, head coach Poya Asbaghi said: "He is at home but we are talking to him and he is OK. We have no signs of the virus being spread."

Meanwhile, captain and top-scorer Woodrow suffered a knee injury in the 2-1 loss at Preston on Saturday.

Asbaghi said: "He is a big question mark. We will see if he can play on Friday or if he is out for that game and maybe longer.

"If he doesn't play of course we will miss his leadership but I hope another striker will come in and take their chance."
