Barnsley’s first piece of transfer business this summer is to sell midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies to Belgian top flight club Eupen for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old signed a three-year deal in the summer of 2020, after leaving Liverpool, but has barely featured.

He waited almost two years to make his Reds debut, coming off the bench in the loss at Huddersfield in April which confirmed relegation to League One.

That was his first appearance in English league football then he started the next match - a harrowing 2-0 home loss to Blackpool.

He leaves Oakwell with just two appearances and reunites with manager Bernd Storck who took him on loan to Cercle Brugge in 2020 from Liverpool and Slovakian club DAC from Barnsley in 2021.

Christie-Davies told the club website: “I would like to say thank you for the support from the fans, all the staff and every teammate for my time at Barnsley. I hope the club will bounce back to where they belong. Good luck for the season"
