Michael Duff has met some players and staff at Oakwell today as he prepares to take over as Barnsley's new head coach.

The 44-year-old is set to move from the Reds' League One rivals Cheltenham Town.

It is unclear exactly when he will be officially announced but it is thought to be highly likely to be this week, potentially tomorrow.

Some players have been back at Oakwell this week for fitness work, mainly those who were fringe first teamers last season or loaned out.

The full squad is due to return to pre-season training on Monday.

They are expected to be led by Duff, who reportedly will not take any staff with him from Cheltenham and instead work with his former Robins team-mate Martin Devaney who was Barnsley's caretaker at the end of their relegation season last month.
