Barnsley will begin the 2022/23 League One campaign with their longest trip, to Plymouth Argyle, then welcome new boss Michael Duff's former club Cheltenham Town in his first home match.

The Reds make the 600-mile round trip to Plymouth – who just missed out on the play-offs last season with 80 points – on July 30, before hosting Cheltenham on August 6, the club Duff left for Oakwell last week.

They then visit Derby County, who were relegated with them and are currently in administration, on August 13 before welcoming Joey Barton's Bristol Rovers on August 16.

After a trip to Ipswich on August 27, they travel to local rivals Sheffield Wednesday on September 3, with the Oakwell derby against the Owls on January 28.

Barnsley's Christmas games see them visit Accrington Stanley on Boxing Day, host Fleetwood Town on December 29 then Bolton Wanderers on January 1.

Their Easter games are at Burton Albion on Good Friday and Shrewsbury Town at home on the Monday, before they finish the season at home to Peterborough United on May 6.
