Barnsley captain Mads Andersen's fitness is a concern going into the play-offs, said head coach Michael Duff.

Andersen has missed the last two games due to a problem with an abdominal muscle. The Reds visit Bolton in the play-offs on Saturday.

Duff told the Chronicle: “It’s a concern. He’s not training. We’re hoping he will be fine but we only have three training days before the next game. Hopefully he will be with us but we can’t guarantee anything. The scan showed something but nothing major.

“But our promotion hopes don’t depend on Mads Andersen. We have a better chance when he’s in the team, because he’s been fantastic. But it can’t be, if he doesn’t play, ‘we might as well pack up and go home.’”
