LACHLAN Moorhead narrowly missed out on a place in the World Judo Championships quarter-finals this week.
The 22-year-old from Penistone reached the third round of the event in Doha, Qatar in the 81kg section.
He beat Bearach Gleeson from Ireland on ‘golden score’ in the first round then Theodoros Demourtsidis from Greece with six seconds left in round two.
But he was beaten by Hungarian seventh seed Attila Ungvari on golden score in the third round.
It was Commonwealth gold medallist Moorhead’s second World Championships, having reached the second round on his debut last year.
