Hoylandswaine have won their third cup of the season after beating Woodhouse in the final of the Black Sheep trophy.

Swaine, who have already won the Huddersfield League's Twenty20 and 50-over competitions, reached 211 for nine as Michael Cranmer hit an unbeaten 71. Woodhouse were then bowled out for 176 as Ben Potter claimed the last four wickets.

Elsewhere, Wombwell Main secured promotion from Division Two to the top flight of the Pontefract League with a tense three-wicket win at home to title rivals Nostell.

Nostell were top at the start of the game but were skittled for 118 as Matty Sewell took four for 24. Ross Thornton then hit 47 off 48 balls including seven fours and two sixes but Wombwell lost regular wickets before scraping home. They are now five points clear of Nostell and 20 points ahead of tomorrow's opponents Sandal who can no longer catch Wombwell.

Chris Degnan took seven for 18 as West Bretton secured the Division Three title by bowling out Brodsworth for 40 in an eight-wicket win.

Elsecar are within a win of an unlikely league South Yorkshire Premier League title but would have already collected their first trophy of the season if it was not for an extraordinary moment of fair play by their stalwart Jason Meadows in the Yorkshire Council Play-off final on Sunday.

Elsecar – who leaprogged Wickersley at the top of the league the previous day – were defending a total of 170 for nine on Sunday and had Whitley Hall at 91 for six when Meadows appeared to take the crucial wicket of opposition skipper Alex Fletcher with a catch off his own bowling.

But, with the other Elsecar players celebrating and the umpires happy to give the wicket, Meadows told the officials that he had dropped the ball before picking it up again. Fletcher went on to win the match for Whitley with six sixes in a superb 57 which secured victory.

Meanwhile, Houghton Main have been relegated after they lost at Aston Hall.
