POLICE are appealing for information after an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision which damaged 25 vehicles.

It’s reported a black Vauxhall Corsa collided at speed with the roundabout on Park Spring Road, Grimethorpe, at around 8.50pm yesterday (Thursday July 23).

It then continued into the car park of a nearby warehouse and damaged 25 parked vehicles.

Fire crews from Cudworth and Dearne stations attended the scene, with a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirming a casualty had to be rescued from their vehicle.

A police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in the Grimethorpe area yesterday evening (Thursday July 23).

“It is reported that at around 8.50pm, a black Vauxhall Corsa collided at speed with the roundabout on Park Spring Road.

“The car subsequently crashed into the car park of a nearby warehouse and damaged 25 parked vehicles.

“The driver of the Corsa, an 18-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries.

“He was taken to hospital via ambulance where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

“Police now want to hear from anyone who may have information about what happened.

“Were you in the area the time? Did you witness the incident? Did you see the car in the area prior to the collision?”
