Barnsley have been drawn at home to Keith Hill's Tranmere Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup.
The tie is due to take place on January 8 or 9.
Tranmere are currently tenth in League Two and, last week, appointed Hill who was in charge at Oakwell in 2011 and 2012.
The two clubs have not met since 2006.
