A DODWORTH-BASED security firm will raise cash for a local charity after its headquarters was broken into three times during the pandemic - causing thousands of pounds worth of damage in the process.

Infinite Fire and Security have started a bumper winter raffle to raise funds for Local Mencap Barnsley, with prizes worth more than £2,500 up for grabs - many of which were donated by local businesses.

Faye Holmes, office manager at the branch, told the Chronicle: “We’re running a raffle fundraiser for Local Mencap Barnsley because they were broken into three times during the pandemic and it’s cost them a lot of money.

“We held a raffle last month to raise some money but we’re holding a booster raffle now and the prizes are worth £2,650.

“Our owners are very close to Local Mencap Barnsley and that’s why we decided to try and raise some money for them.

“At the last break-in Chris, one of the owners, went down at 1am to the building and aided the police in finding the culprit.”

Raffle tickets are currently on sale for £5 each and can be bought by phoning 01226 337898.
