Defender Toby Sibbick is due to return to Oakwell in January following his loan at Belgian club Oostende.

The 21-year-old centre-back has not played for Oostende, who are owned by the Reds owners, since moving across the channel last summer.

Oostende had an option to buy him but have not taken it.

Sibbick played regularly for Barnsley in the first half of last season under Daniel Stendel who then took him on loan to Hearts after being sacked and replaced by Gerhard Struber who barely played the former AFC Wimbledon man.

He will now train under Valerien Ismael and could be an option for the Reds who are looking to add strength in depth in the centre-back area during the January transfer window.
