Barnsley midfielder Josh Benson has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss at least three games.

The 21-year-old was left out of Saturday's game at Bournemouth and will not feature at Stoke City tomorrow and at home to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

Head coach Markus Schopp said: "24 hours before the game with Bournemouth he was positive, negative then positive - it was a bit of a mess. His symptoms are not too bad and he is training at home."

Left-back Ben Williams is also due to miss the next two games after sustaining an ankle injury on Saturday. Schopp said: "It's not as bad as we thought. He will not be available on Wednesday and probably at the weekend but hopefully next week he might be back."

Remy Vita arrived in Barnsley yesterday and trained today but Schopp said he was not sure whether the deadline day signing would make his debut.

Obbi Oulare, Mads Andersen, Jordan Williams and Carlton Morris are all still recovering from injuries.
